Marcus is born in Nyköping in 1970 and represents the new generation of
brilliant Swedish jazz musicians. As a ten year old supertalent behind the drums
he did great success in "Super Six", a jazzband of youngsters presented
in the popular TV-show "Hylands Hørna". At that time he studied
with the drum legend Egil "Bop" Johansen who should be his teacher
for 10 years. After a general music education he continued studying with some
of the worlds best jazz drummers such as Mel Lewis and Max Roach.
In his young carrier as a professional musician he have toured with Putte Wickman,
Robert Wells, Arne Domnèrus, Scott Hamilton, Monica Zetterlund, Nils
Landgren and Dave Frishberg.
After Egil "Bop" Johansens death in December 1998, Marcus Lewin was
asked to join The Brazz Brothers as their new drummer. Today Marcus is a sought
after drum teacher himself and do often have his own workshops and drum-clinics.
